New House

Well the signing for our new house is today! Here is a picture of Abigail and her cousin Nathaniel at the new house:

Nathaniel hiked to it from my parents. He walked the whole way by himself! He is such a sweetie bear.

Here is Abigail hiking from grandmother’s house to the new house:

Abigail has a new cousin Isabella Jasmine born on November 17th. Here she is with Andrew:

When we eat at my parents’ Abigail always wants to sit right by her “Nana”:

Andrew is a big guy- 100th percentile for weight. He weighed in at 19lbs 19 oz at his 4 month appointment last week! He is a little sweetheart, such a good little baby. He just adores Abigail. He has all eyes on her at all times!

Déjà vu

Parenting your second you get a lot of déjà vu. Right now when Andrew coos and tries to stand in my lap- I start remembering when Abby went through that phase.

Well we had a nice morning at home. Andrew sometimes takes two hour morning naps so it gives Abigail and I some time to hang out. Here is Abby playing with some silly putty she won at a Halloween party:

IMG_0008.JPG

I always try to get out in the morning because we all nap in the afternoon. We had a busy week- Monday- playgroup, Tuesday- library storytime and lunch w/ Dada at the Muffin Mill, Wednesday- preschool (oh yeah I started a coop preschool), Thursday- Showcase concert at the Hult center- heard the Eugene Symphony and Terrific Twos class at Birth to 3. Plus Abigail ‘s afternoon outings with Bawby- my dad will pick her up after nap and take her out since Andrew naps til 4 or 5.

When Andrew woke up today Abigail wanted him to play on his play mat from cousin Susannah. Here he is enjoying looking at the toys:

News

Hi there,

Well life has been crazy- lots of ups and downs. Raising a family is sure a rollercoaster ride! Kyle is outside raking with Abigail- she just loves helping! Good thing because it’s a full time job with the tree in the front yard. Here are some pictures of us at the pumpkin patch yesterday:

poor Andrew was not happy for this one!

Kyle picked the biggest one he could find.

We are making our way through the terrible twos- we know now why they say that. We’re dealing with the fun of the toddler bed, nap strikes, etc.

Abigail is talking so well- full sentences all the time, incorporating new words very quickly. She loves bed time stories that Kyle and I make up about “Little Abby” going on different adventures. Andrew is coming out of the colic thank goodness. He is a real chubby sweetheart at 17 lbs 2 oz. He is 3 months old now. He coos and smiles so big w/ his dimple. Sleep with him is a little easier than it was with Abby so we’re enjoying that.

I hope everyone is enjoying fall and getting ready for Halloween

Love,

Sara

Welcome Fall

Well we just got home from having lunch with Dada. Fall is definitely here- it’s cold, windy and the leaves are falling. I’m sitting with Andrew and he’s cooing away. Abigail is sacked out. We are about to join her.

Andrew has really change in the last week. He coos, smiles and is alot more interactive. He loves when you tickle his toes. He loves mobiles. He is a chunk. No one can believe he is 2 months old! Lasst time we had him weighed he was 14 lbs 5 oz. And that was 2 weeks ago.

Well our house didn’t work out so we’re back to square one. I’ll keep you posted about that.

Abigail cracks us up daily. Today she was dancing around Andrew’s room singing “I don’t want to lose your love tonight”- one of her and Daddy’s songs. She is excited about Halloween. We went to the 2 year old story time today for the first time. She was thrilled to be with the big kids. She is also sleeping in a toddler bed now. She is so proud. The first night was a disaster (ran out of the room about 10 times over 2 hours) obut by the second day there were no problems thank goodness. We harvested the remains from our veggie garden this morning. I’ve got a lot of cooking to do and no time for it! Anyone want produce? I’ll try to post more pictures soon.

Here is Abigail with her “pie” she made me by dumping out the box of cheerios the other morning while I was in the shower:

Our First Baby Turns 2

Today was Abigail’s 2nd birthday. We had a big party at the house- it was a lot of fun. Abigail is very into ballet so we did a ballerina party. Her favorite gift was a pair of ballet shoes. She wanted to wear them immediately and then she wanted me to bring the music outside so she could dance.

Here she is practicing her moves:

The party really did her in- she went to bed at 7 pm. She was falling asleep on the dining room table in her dinner! I can’t believe our little girl is two years old. It sounds so big!

13 lbs 10 oz

I weighed Andrew tonight and that’s what it said! He had his diaper and onesie on so it may be a few oz less but still what a big boy! Today (Sunday) was a great day. He was so happy – just eating and sleeping. Monday and Saturday were a total different story. But two out of seven isn’t bad. We just need to be prepared to expect one mood or the other I guess.

We had a pretty unexciting weekend which was nice-I managed to fold and put away a mountain of laundry that has been growing for over a week. We had dinner at my parents Friday and Sunday. It’s so nice not to cook! I am loving eating outside while we can. Here is a picture of last weekend.

Abigail loves having her Pa in town. She goes and picks plums with him in the backyard and then goes to play in the club house. She loves her new table and deck!

Saturday we went to Jerry’s to look at carpet for the new house. Here are some pictures of the new house.

One of my favorite things is the backyard-

We are so excited to move in. We are thinking we’ll move in mid-October.

Busy Week

Well we have had lots of visitors this week. Abigail has loved all the excitement. Sadly I didn’t take pictures with our visitors to post. Yesterday my teacher friends came to visit from Salem. Today a childhood friend came for lunch. She was on her way to California.

We’ve also been busy with visiting Abigail’s aunts and uncles. Here’s a picture of Abigail with Uncle Seb at Amazon Pool where he lifeguards:

First Days at Home

Well even though I love having all the nurses’ help at the hospital, it is good to be home. I’m loving having Kyle home. It is so nice! He and Abigail are having a lot of fun together going out on outings- yesterday they went to library storytime, today they went to Skinner Butte Park.

Today is a good sleep day. Kyle and I are taking shifts at night so we can get some sleep. And when it was time for Kyle’s shift, Andrew finally went to sleep! So Kyle got lots of sleep. I am just putting sleep first and sleeping when the baby sleeps as much as possible. The house looks like a tornado hit at times but I figure sanity is more important than a clean house:)

Abigail is doing great. It’s a little sad and bittersweet seeing her having to shift from being the baby to the older sibling. She is having to be so grown up and brave at times. But she loves her baby Andrew so that’s what matters most.

Here are some pictures of the last few days:

Andrew loves looking at Abigail’s old Dora poster. We used to have Abigail look at it when she was a newborn:
