As we were looking at family pictures, Andrew said “Abby” and “Baw” for “Bawby” , my dad. He is so smart, really growing up.
Quote of the Day
Out of the blue while drawing, Abigail asks, “When I was a baby you could just talk to me?”
I love hearing her wonderings!
Weekend in Central Point
Andrew and Grammie
Grandpa and Abigail at the farm we visited
Abigail and Grammie doing playdoh. They made it from scratch- so soft!
We had a fun visit. It was the kids’ first night away ever from Daddy. I went with just the kids. I realized that I haven’t spent a night away from Kyle since I was pregnant with Abby. We are a family that sticks together!
Here ‘s Kyle with the kids at campus on Sunday:
Andrew’s New Words
I noticed over the weekend that he says- “out ” when he wants out of the high chair. He says duck. He makes the gorilla noise.
Success
Well the zuchini apple bread was a success. I love the way the apples taste all warm and soft in the bread. I will have to make apple bread more often. Big day- we went to the county fair- so stimulating for the kids- kid wonderland with all the rides and things to do. I hung pictures up in the house finally!, I brought bread to all the new neighbors with Abigail. We had a fun family dinner at my parents tonight and sad goodbye to Jason and his family. We got some great pictures I will post later.
I love rocking Andrew to sleep. I just melt feeling him in my arms against my chest, my baby. I love kissing his big cheeks, they are so big and soft. I love having a baby. He’s is walking everywhere trying to keep up with the big kids. He is still my baby though:) Words he says: du (duck), do (dog), Mama, Dada, trying to say Bawby (my dad’s name) “Baw”, ball, uh oh, hot , hat, bir (bird). He has stopped signing . He just screams when he wants something instead. Ah!
Abigail loves jumping on beds unfortunately. We are working on her not doing that. She loves playing night night, laying in tents. She always want me to build her tents. She loves pretending to hide from a bear. So we are always playing that we are the bear. Kyle is the best at this! He got Abby and Nana so fired up tonight doing that. She also likes climbing trees – Kyle’s influence. And when I asked her if she wanted to do soccer or art this fall, she said she wants to do baseball:) She is a nice mix of tomboy and girly girl. She loves sports but also loves dressing up and doing ballet.
July
Abigail is into swimming. We took such a big break from swimming after Andrew was born that she was a little fearful of the deep water at the beginnin gof th summer. Yesterday she realized that water and swimming can be fun. She goes underwater- we call it peekaboo. She jumps in from standing position and goes underwater. She blows bubbles. She loves bouncing and jumping in the water. She likes doing the slide at Amzon Pool.
Andrew is a ham. I brought him to the library yesterday and he just smiles so big with his teeth to strangers- he did it to a little girl at storytime and the volunteer woman there. I am so happy to have such a friendly little guy! He is learning to give kisses. He open his mouth and presses it to your face. So cute.
Abigail
Abigail is into space. She talks about spaceships and being an astronaut.
She just said “it’s a great time having fun with my brother” They play together and laugh- so cute.
She also loves swimming. We’ve been going to Amazon Pool.
Andrew
Andrew is almost one! His two front teeth are coming in. He know how to say hi. He says it while waving- too cute! He also waves bye. I think he learned this because Abby loves to wave to people on the porch when they leave the house.
Abby is starting to understand weather- she notices when it’s hot/ cold outside.
We went swimming this weekend at Amazon. It’s finally hot enough. Abby did the slide with Kyle for the first time. It was Andrew’s first time swimming.
Andrew does this cute thing where he bring Kyle or I a book when he wants us to read to him. He pulls himself up to the couh where we sit and brings us a board book. He loves the lift the flap Karen Katz board books.
June
Abigail is finishing up preschool with a real fun week- they painted with their feet Tuesday and Thursday they are cooking pizzas. She is thrilled.
Abigail just said “I have two granddaughters- Indy and Ria” She makes up names lately. That is her new thing. I think she gets this from a book I read her about children all over the world.
Now she is pretending to grocery shop with her cart. She put her baby dolls in it. She said “I’m out of milk and bread for my babies.”
Andrew does this thing where he tilts his head and smiles and really hams it up. He’ll do it for strangers even! What a show off. I need to get his picture taken doing this!
Andrew hates bath time now all of a sudden. It’s horrible- he screams through the entire thing and tries to climb out of the tub. I think it’s because I’m putting him in a bath seat . He hates not being able to move and crawl all around the tub. I had to do it because he was slipping.
This week
I learned yesterday that Abby can ride a tricycle now! She just went round and round the playard at preschool.
Today I noticed Andrew’s second tooth has popped out. It’s so cute seeing him smile with his little teeth.
We moved into our house today. The kids are so happy and of course me too!
Abigail is really into playing pretend – she pretends to cook, call people on the phone. Oh and she loves grocer shopping. I let her take her own cart now- she is in heaven I will have to get a picture of it.
Abigail has a buddy at preschool. She and Sylvia are inseparable. They ride their bikes together at recess. They sit together at recess. They are so sweet to eachother. They love to tumble together too and play a little rough. She had a playdate with her Friday- here are some pictures.
