ABBY QUOTES

Today I caught her with our Ipad. She said “I want an Ipad one day. Get Andrew one too”

I was commenting on her red cheeks and she said “maybe I am going to turn into a crab.” She is starting to make jokes!

We skyped w/ Kyle tonight. (He is in Portland on business.) She was such the conversationalist. After he was done asking her about her day, she did the same to him. “What did you do?… What else?” “What are you doing now?”

“What hotel?”

“Did you go ice skating?” She asked this because we watched the ice skaters last time we were in Portland.

I started laughing because she was just too cute- all grown up chatting with her daddy on Skype!

Busy Weekend

Well we had a busy, fun weekend despite the rain. We had friends over for dinner Friday. I love how nicely it works out with the kids playing while the adults talk. The kids played great together. It was fun.

Saturday we went to Cosco to look at TVs. Yes Kyle wants to get a TV after 3 years TV free. We are not going to get cable. We will just use it for watching DVDs.

We watched the Duck game at my parents. Then we went to dinner at Pegasus with some friends and then to the volleyball game. The kids got to stay up late.

Sunday we had a lazy day at home watching the rain. Kyle did house chores, cleaned the garage. He and Abby went to Humble Bagel while I stayed with sleeping Andrew and did my homework. Then we went to dinner at my parents’.

This morning we are headed to Preschool Art Time at the Springfield Library. It should be fun!

3 Year Check Up

We went in for Abigail’s 3 year check up on Monday. She is 32 pounds and 3 ft 3 in.

(Candice- I’m stealing your idea:) Thank you)

Abigail is in preschool now on Tuesday and Thursdays. She goes to playgroup on Wednesdays.

Abigail sleeps about 11 1/2 hours each night. She stopped napping about a week before her third birthday. She will only nap now in the car:(

Potty Training: She is pretty much potty trained. She still has accident every once in a while.

Favorite foods: blueberries, pretzels, pizza, muffins, treats of course (M and Ms, jelly beans, ice cream, cupcakes, cookies), cheese sticks, pretty much all fruit, and currently sunny side up eggs with toast to dip in.

Favorite Pastimes: going to campus with Daddy, swimming, picnicks (she loves picnicking at University Park after preschool), going to the park, riding her bike, playing bear hunt, picking blueberries, picking apples, hiking, painting!, watching shows (Wiggles), family movie night, reading books, helping cook. playing pretend (cooking, playing house, counter/ store)

Fav Books: It used to be ABC Bags. She loves Dora books and currently she likes Daddy Could i Have an Elephant?

Fav Movies: She has only seen three. She loved them all- Up, Charlotte’s Web and Curious George The Movie

The doctor summed it up by saying we have an “active and challenging daughter” and we’re doing a great job. She also said she is very smart.

News on Andrew: He is making 2 word sentences like: Bye Bye Dada. I am so proud of my little boy. His newest words: eat , nigh-night. His says them when he’s hungry or tired. Very helpful! His first French word: boisson means drink. He says that when we wants a drink. Abby’s first French word was bonbon (candy). She still uses / remembers it today.

He is getting so grown up – he just brought me an empty plate and said “balls” which means he wants more grapes:) Anything that is circular is called “ball”- blueberries, oranges, etc! He is now bringing me a book which means he wants to be read to.

Andrew is very expressive. He makes the funniest faces with his eyebrows. When he’s being a stinker, he ‘ll squeeze his eyes shut or pucker his lips out. So cute! He also does the best smiles. He does this huge almost cheesy smile that is just too much:

He know he needs to do that here because he just made a big mess! He also has curls now like his sister!

Fun Date

Kyle took me on a date yesterday. We went the Art Museum on campus to see the new exhibit on Rome. It was fun- so nice to go to a quiet museum and actually have time to read about the paintings. Kyle pointed out that we had never been to the museum w/o Abigail and so hence we have never been able to really look at everything.

The exhibit was about the Grand Tours the privileged would do during the 1700s. The Grand Tours were 6 month or longer trips the rich would take to Rome. They would bring servants, sometimes artists to sketch their trip since they couldn’t take pictures with a camera. What a vacation! Here is more on the exhibit: http://jsma.uoregon.edu/onview/Default-details.aspx?ID=92.

Friday we had family night- dinner at Sweet Basil by campus and then got frozen yogurt for dessert. Then we took a walk around campus. Andrew rode in his car and Abby rode her big girl bike! Saturday Kyle took Abby to game day and wen to the game with a friend. While he was tailgating I hiked to my parents with the kids. We had a fun afternoon and dinner with them. My parents always have projects ready for them. They decorated for Halloween and played with Sophie’s beanie babies this weekend.

Sunday we had a nice visit with Grandpa and Uncle Steve. Then we went to church, Kyle did yard work (yipee!). Pretty nice weekend. I am loving all this dry weather!!

Game Day

Abby and Kyle are at Game Day at Autzen. Here is a pic :

Kyle treated her to hot chocolate on the way:) She was so excited to go. Does she look happy or what? That’s the thing about kids- their joy is contagious!
